Prick of the Spindle hosts its 2nd Poetry Open Competition.
Only $5 to submit two poems. Multiple entries are fine.
The grand prize winner; first, second, and third prize recipients; and honorable mentions will be published in an e-Book edition. The grand and first prize winners will be published in a print edition of the journal. Grand Prize winner receives a complimentary 1-year subscription to the Print Edition.
Guidelines.
To submit, send two poems of 160 lines or fewer to pseditor (at) prickofthespindle (dot) com with "Poetry Open" typed in the subject line of your e-mail. Both published and unpublished submissions are welcome for the competition. The competition ends on midnight, May 15, 2012. Judges are Cynthia Reeser and Patricia Caspers, Poetry Editor.
Your work will be considered once we receive your payment through PayPal; see purchase link below. There is no limit to the number of entries, and the reading fee is $5 per each entry of two poems.

Congratulations to Monique Hayes, whose play, "Echoes," was selected through Prick of the Spindle's Outreach Initiative for Youth Drama Competition for production through the Pensacola Little Theatre. See the press release and poster. Production was May 12 and May 13, 2011 for the world premiere in Pensacola, Florida.
