Bio: Photography started as a hobby for Katie Guesman during her childhood. Her earliest memories are of family vacations; even then, she was inseparable from the camera. She decided to turn her passion into something more serious in 2007, when she sold her first few pieces of work. Katie focuses mainly on nature photography, but loves to photograph anything that catches her eye. She notes that, “So often in our busy lives, we pass by many beautiful things without taking notice. With my art, I attempt to capture the beautiful, everyday scenes that go unnoticed.” She is currently enrolled in a digital photography course with the New York Institute of Photography. She plans to continue her studies, both with the Institute and independently. Katie started her business, Natural Expressions Photography, in 2007 and has sold art both to corporate collectors and individuals. She is currently represented by Mac Worthington Gallery in Columbus, Ohio. One of her photographs was published as the cover photo for the (Channel 3 WKYC-sponsored) 2009 Northeast Ohio Weather Calendar, and some of her artwork has been published in the online magazine, Divine Revolution Magazine. Katie’s goal for the next few years is to participate in art exhibits and shows, and to become actively involved with art galleries in Northeastern Ohio. Her primary goal is to one day own a gallery so that she can help other emerging artists get their start in the art world.
